Elluminate
Whilst we didn’t succeed in the Elluminate session I have since had a look at it through Southern Cross University. I provide a link to the information page hopefully it should work (given I accessed with a staff code)

Hi Sue
Yes touch disappointing we couldn’t all get in. Elluminate is fun. Have yet to use it with children yet. Can see potential for using this tool across schools as you can contribute (text, drawing, talking) all at once and see instantly what another memeber is adding. Don’t know again about children accessing through their own logins or creating a generic login.
PS Your blog has heaps of resources. thanks heaps.

Hi Sue
I am a keen participant in using Elluminate. I was lucky enough to get in the other night and have been in on projects before. I love the audio component as well as the whiteboard where you can post comments , draw pictures, plan and interact. BUT my favourite is being able to use the whiteboard to demonstrate what is happening on the desktop. THis is an invaluable tool when trying to expalin hoe to do something…and I love both the viewing and the creating. I have not used it in the classroom but I am keen to use it to model to the students. Unfortunately for all those students who are caught outside the environment it can be extremeley frustrating and indeed stressful.I noticed that others resorted to text cahtr in skype , which is good but does not hold ythe same intrigue for me. In a regular classroom I do not know how you would overcomethis difficulty, to keep students engaged and on task. BUT I DO LOVE IT!!!!!
